We recommend a hand-held pistol-grip style diamond wheel glass cutter. The Toyo brand is industry standard. For long, perfectly straight cuts, we recommend the DK Monorail plate cutting system, which incorporates the Toyo blade onto a heavy-duty steel guiding arm and rail.
1. Hold the knife blade with both hands, using the first fingers to hold the blade straight.
2. Push away from you with enough pressure on the glass to create a tearing sound.
3. Break the glass along this score line with breaking pliers, with the notch on the pliers on the top of the score line.
We recommend not using cutting oil in the blades, if you choose to do so, be especially sure to clean the dichroic side free of all oil residue, or burnout of the dichroic may occur.
